How many bundles cover the area?
Multiply net sloped area by (1 + waste percentage ÷ 100), then divide by the selected product’s coverage per bundle. Round upward to whole bundles only at the end. Coverage varies by product; use the product label.
A worked example
For a synthetic 2,000 sq ft roof, a chosen 10% allowance makes 2,200 sq ft. At an example coverage of 33.33 sq ft per bundle, 2,200 ÷ 33.33 = approximately 66.0066. Round up to 67 bundles. The entered coverage matters: do not round it to “three bundles per square.”
| Scenario area | Coverage per bundle | Whole bundles |
|---|---|---|
| 2,200 sq ft | 33.33 sq ft | 67 |
What is separate?
This is a field-shingle planning scenario. Starter strips, ridge caps, valley materials, fasteners and accessories are separate. No waste percentage is recommended. Confirm product coverage, layout and installation details before ordering.
